Tottenham Hotspur will play Champions League football again next season after beating Norwich City 5-0 in the Premier League at Carrow Road on Sunday afternoon.
Spurs were last in Europe's premier club competition in the 2019/20 campaign, when they were knocked out by RB Leipzig in the last 16, and it is hoped that securing a top-four finish will help the club secure the services of head coach Antonio Conte on a longer-term basis.
The match at Norwich was very straightforward for Tottenham, as Dejan Kulusevski and Son Heung-min netted two goals apiece, with Harry Kane scoring the other.
Two of Spurs' January signings linked up for the first goal, as Rodrigo Bentancur laid the ball off for Kulusevski to fire into the back of the net in the 16th minute.
Sixteen minutes later, Kane doubled Tottenham's advantage. Tim Krul's poor pass out from the back went straight to Bentancur, who played a perfectly weighted cross for Kane to head into the empty net.
Kulusevski grabbed his second goal in the 64th minute, and it was a screamer. Not long after he had missed a gilt-edged chance to extend Spurs' lead, he came in on his left foot and guided a shot into the far corner to make it 3-0 in favour of the visiting side.
Son got on the scoresheet after being put through by Lucas Moura and firing past Krul in the 70th minute, while he added his second five minutes later with a goal that was as good as Kulusevski's second.
Norwich failed to clear a free-kick, with the ball falling to Son, who unleashed a wonderful shot from the edge of the area that nestled in the far corner.
Son to share top scorer award
By scoring these two goals, Son did enough to become the joint-top scorer in the Premier League this season, sharing the Golden Boot award with Liverpool's Mohamed Salah.
Tottenham can now begin to think about next season and the prospect of facing Europe's biggest clubs once again, having pipped arch-rivals Arsenal to fourth spot.
