Coming after back-to-back defeats against Bayer Leverkusen and Lazio, Bayern Munich were in desperate need of victory.

Jamal Musiala set them on their way with a brilliant strike to open the scoring in the 14th minute, but it should have been two straight after.

Kane sprung the offside trap thanks to a brilliant pass from Musiala and was through one-on-one with the goalkeeper.

Shaping to score, it looked like the inevitable would happen, but instead Kane curled the ball over the bar.

Leaning over despondently, Thomas Muller raised his arms and shouted in anger at his teammate, as a square-pass would have left the veteran German with an open goal.

Responding to the miss, German media outlet BILD wrote: "Kane normally scores those in his sleep."

Fans also commented on X with one saying: "Musiala is a joke man, look at that pass. I won't comment on the finish from Kane though."

The miss then proved to be costly, with Bayern conceding two before the end of the half against their relegation-threatened opponents.

Should they remain 2-1 down, title rivals Leverkusen could have one hand on the Bundesliga trophy, having beaten Heidenheim a day earlier to extend their lead to eight points.
