The meaning behind Brazil's goal celebrations: Stars bring Samba to Qatar

During their 4-1 win, Neymar and co brought the Samba to Qatar as the players danced together after every goal.

Even manager Tite got involved after Richarlison scored, with all of the substitutes joining them to do the Spurs strikers' pigeon dance.

Following the game, the Brazil boss said: "They're very young and I always try to adapt a little bit to their language. They have a language, which is of dancing."

However, this dancing didn't please everyone, with Roy Keane branding it 'really disrespectful to the opposition'.

But the Brazilians have always brought their moves to competitions as they are ingrained in their culture, with the nation of Brazil famous for being the home of Carnival and Samba.

Vinicius Junior opened the scoring against South Korea and he was joined by his teammates to dance to a song popular on TikTok.

'Pagodao do Birimbola' by Os Quebradeiras is the tune that inspired the dance as he was joined by Neymar and Lucas Paqueta.

The trio were then joined by Raphinha in their next dance after Neymar's penalty, showing off their moves made after hearing 'Oz Crias da Selecao' by Oz Crias and DJ LC da Roca.

Richarlison then got in on the act and performed his celebration that the Premier League know all too well.

The pigeon is the Spurs man's trademark and after including manager Tite in the celebration, its popularity has grown even further.

Speaking on the dance, he said: "The pigeon dance came from a group from Rio de Janeiro who had a song in around 2012.

"A trend was started when I did the dance at home. Everyone started copying me."

After some backlash, the players have jumped to each other's defence to educate people who criticised them.

Paqueta said: "In dance, we symbolise the joy of scoring the goal. We don't do it to disrespect, we don't go in front of an opponent."

So, with Brazil looking like they could go all the way at the World Cup, it doesn't seem like they'll be stopping their moves any time soon.
