Sunday's Eredivisie predictions including PSV Eindhoven vs. FC Twente

Volendam vs. AZ (Sunday, 11.15am)

Winless in their last nine matches, FC Volendam welcome AZ Alkmaar to the Kras Stadion on Sunday in round 26 of the 2023-24 Eredivisie season.

Meanwhile, the away side head into this weekend's encounter unbeaten in five straight matches and in search of a league double over their hosts, having claimed a 3-0 win in the reverse fixture.

We say: FC Volendam 1-3 AZ Alkmaar

AZ boast more quality players all over the pitch and will fancy themselves to get the job done. We fully expect the away side to cruise to a relatively routine win in the end.

Utrecht vs. Nijmegen (Sunday, 1.30pm)

In-form Eredivisie sides FC Utrecht and NEC will be looking to continue their upward trajectories when they go head-to-head at the Stadion Galgenwaard on Sunday.

The home side are unbeaten in all but one of their last 10 matches, while the visitors are currently on a run of four straight wins across all competitions.

We say: FC Utrecht 2-1 NEC

There is little to pick between the sides heading into this one, and Sunday's game could easily head either way. That said, we are backing the hosts to get the job done come the end of the 90 minutes.

Heerenveen vs. Feyenoord (Sunday, 1.30pm)

Having seen their two-game winning streak end last time out, Heerenveen will do battle against Feyenoord at the Abe Lenstra Stadion on Sunday.

The visitors, on the other hand, will be looking to make it back to back victories off the back of a return to winning ways in their most recent outing.

We say: Heerenveen 1-3 Feyenoord

Both sides have had little trouble finding the back of the net of late, and we are expecting an entertaining clash. We can also see the away side coming out on top at the end of the 90 minutes.

Sparta vs. Ajax (Sunday, 3.45pm)

Ajax make the trip to Sparta Rotterdam on Sunday afternoon in desperate need of a victory to remain in the hunt for fourth position in the Eredivisie standings.

At a time when the visitors sit six points adrift of that spot, Sparta are down in 11th place and with a fight on their hands to make the European playoffs.

We say: Sparta Rotterdam 2-3 Ajax

Having watched the manner of Ajax's performance against Villa, Sparta will fancy their chances of inflicting more misery on the fallen giants. However, Van't Schip may now realise that their recent switch in formation is not sustainable, and we are expecting Ajax to get back on track with a thrilling win.

PSV vs. FC Twente (Sunday, 7.00pm)

The final curtain of gameweek 26 in the Eredivisie will be a clash of the heavyweights, with PSV Eindhoven taking on FC Twente at Philips Stadion on Sunday evening.

The hosts are well on course to lift the league title this season, currently leading the league standings by 10 points, while the visitors are in third place and trail second-placed Feyenoord by six points.

We say: PSV Eindhoven 2-1 FC Twente

PSV have been sensational this season, particularly at Philips Stadion, where they have found the net at least twice in each of their 12 league home games this season. While they will still be feeling the effects of their midweek disappointment, we are expecting them to bounce back with a solid performance in this one.
