Sunday's Brasileiro predictions including Fluminense vs. Flamengo

Bahia vs. Cruzeiro (Sunday, 8.00pm)

Looking to avoid back-to-back defeats for the first time in 2024, Bahia will welcome fellow top-six hopefuls Cruzeiro to Arena Fonte Nova for a Brasileiro clash on Sunday.

The Tricolor were sentenced to a loss at the home of the division's early pacesetters last time out, whilst Raposa secured a routine success over the league's basement boys on home soil.

We say: Bahia 1-0 Cruzeiro

Possessing a 100% record from home matches in the 2024 Brasileiro, Bahia should be supremely confident of getting back to winning ways on Sunday evening.

Despite their positive start to the campaign, Cruzeiro have been unreliable on the road - failing to score in their last two away matches - and we feel that Raposa will endure more troubles on their travels this weekend.

Fluminense vs. Flamengo (Sunday, 8.00pm)

Two sides at opposite ends of the Brasileiro table will face off on Sunday when Fluminense host Flamengo at the shared Maracana Stadium in Brazil's biggest club football rivalry.

The home team head into the Fla-Flu derby languishing at the bottom of the league, while the visitors are top of the table.

Fluminense have struggled all season and looked out of depth. In a game against the league leaders and sworn rivals, we expect the hosts to struggle once again and ultimately lose this match.

Athletico PR vs. Corinthians (Sunday, 8.00pm)

Athletico Paranaense play host to Corinthians on Saturday evening looking to get back to winning ways having seen their title charge halted in recent games.

While the home side sit in fourth position in the Brasileiro standings, Corinthians are third from bottom after a prolonged run of fixtures without success.

Having at least stopped the rot in recent weeks, Corinthians will back themselves to upset the odds with the pressure rising on their opponents. However, Athletico PR should have enough quality in their ranks to negotiate what may be more competitive than many people are anticipating.

Atletico Mineiro vs. Fortaleza (Sunday, 10.30pm)

Two teams that are currently in the battle for a place in next season's Copa Sudamericana come together on Sunday night as Atletico Mineiro host Fortaleza at the Arena MRV in Brasileiro Serie A.

The hosts are currently 10th in the table with 13 points from nine games, while the visitors are in 12th due to a lower goal difference than their opponents.

Atletico Mineiro may be coming into this game on the back of two consecutive defeats with eight goals conceded in that time, but they have not lost to Fortaleza at home since 2021, leading us to believe the home side will win this one.

Palmeiras vs. Juventude (Sunday, 10.30pm)

Reigning champions Palmeiras will be looking to pick up a fifth straight victory when they welcome Juventude to Allianz Parque on Sunday.

The away side, on the other hand, make the journey in search of consecutive league victories for this first time since the turn of the new campaign.

Palmeiras are in scintillating form at the moment and will definitely take some stopping here. We fancy the home side to run out comfortable winners come the end of the 90 minutes.

Bragantino vs. Vitoria (Sunday, 10.30pm)

The action continues in round 11 of the Brasileiro Serie A as Bragantino and Vitoria go head to head at the Estadio Nabi Abi Chedid on Sunday.

After stumbling into the new campaign, a rejuvenated Leeo da Barra have put together two wins in their last two outings and will be looking to pick up where they left off in midweek.

While Bragantino will be looking to return to winning ways, they will need to show their mettle against a Vitoria side who are on the up. However, the hosts boast the firepower needed to get the job done and we predict they will come away with all three points.
