The legendary broadcaster, who's hosted the Sky Sports show for 30 years, said he was stepping down at the end of the season in October 2021.
However, he's since changed his mind and will stay in the job until the end of the 2022/23 season at least.
"Sky Sports is my home, and the Soccer Saturday team are a big part of my life," he said.
"As the end of the season approached, and I was preparing to say goodbye, I realised that I was not ready to blow the final whistle and leave the best job in the world.
"I am thrilled to be staying, and excited about moving the show forward and creating more special Saturday afternoons on Sky Sports."
Stelling has fronted the show since 1992, when it was known as Sports Saturday. It then became Soccer Saturday in 1998 and there have been numerous iconic moments on the award-winning show.
"Football fans everywhere will be delighted that Jeff will continue to host Soccer Saturday," Jonathan Licht, managing director of Sky Sports said.
"He is a massive part of Saturday afternoon life and everyone at Sky Sports shares the joy this news will bring.
"We just can't get enough of Jeff, and can't wait to bring more of his broadcasting magic to our viewers."
The news has delighted talkSPORT's Simon Jordan, who tweeted: "Thank god that @JeffStelling has decided to stay on at #skysports.
"Quite frankly; I cannot bring myself to watch the rest of the virtue signalling, say nothing rubbish that seems to be the stable diet of this platform. But they do have influencers on I guess."
