Ange Postecoglou takes charge of his first European game as Tottenham Hotspur boss on Thursday night, as the Lilywhites host Qarabag FK in their Europa League league phase opener.

Spurs returned to the second tier of continental football thanks to their fifth-placed finish in the 2023-24 Premier League campaign, although they came agonisingly close to sneaking into the top four and earning a Champions League ticket.

The North London giants have endured a mixed start to Premier League proceedings this season, but they returned to triumphant ways at the weekend, coming from behind to sink London rivals Brentford 3-1.

Richarlison's unspecified training injury is proving difficult to overcome, and Postecoglou admitted before the Brentford game that there was no point in the media asking for updates on his availability, as the Brazilian is still not back in full training.
