The news will please Luis de la Fuente who will avoid facing the best goalscorer in Europe in his first game in charge of La Roja.
He took over from Luis Enrique who left his position as manager following Spain's early elimination from the World Cup in the round of 16 against Morocco.

He said: "Erling took it hard when he realised that he could not fight for the team.
