Shaw was initially booked for timewasting before receiving his second yellow for a strong challenge, and was given his marching orders after the Italian players emplored the referee.

With England leading by just one goal, Southgate opted to make a tactical alteration by bringing Kieran Trippier onto the pitch in order to bolster their defensive ranks.
But just 12 minutes after coming off the bench, it was Foden who was taken off in an attempt to help England see out the win.
The decision from Southgate was justified as the Three Lions secured a 2-1 win, with Declan Rice and Harry Kane scoring in the first half.
In the buildup to the match, Southgate spoke about how he intended to use Foden, suggesting that his skills and quality are most suitable to playing out of wide areas.

He said: "With Phil, he has got versatility, but you have to look where his club play him.
"That's wide on the left or wide on the right.
"Against lesser opponents he plays as a no.10 or in midfield, so [Man City] are still looking at his evolution as to what he might be but in the big games he plays from the side and that's where most of his experiences are."
