'Shameless' - Arsenal roasted on Twitter by furious fans for Brentford post

Arsenal fans must be wondering how many more twists and turns their season can take after a curious post from the club's social media team on Thursday afternoon.

Having lost all three of their opening Premier League games and failed to score a single goal, the club are rooted to the bottom of the table.

Mikel Arteta is under increasing pressure at the Emirates and games against Norwich, Burnley and rivals Tottenham are unlikely to provide much-needed relief.

The Spaniard will try and take some consolation from a 4-0 victory against Brentford on Thursday afternoon at their training base at London Colney as the players continue to increase their fitness levels and gel as a team after the summer break.

Ben White, the £50m summer signing from Brighton, started in a three-man defence and Aaron Ramsdale enjoyed a quiet afternoon in goal.

Strikes from Alexandre Lacazette and Gabriel set the Gunners on their way, before a late double from Cedric added a gloss to the win.

Job done for Arteta, or so he thought.

The Spaniard would be well advised to stay off Twitter after the club's social media team posted a report of the game online, much to the derision of some of fans.

Having been outplayed and outfought in west London on the opening day of the season two weeks ago, supporters were irked to see a behind-closed-doors friendly during an international break be given any sort of air time whatsoever.

After their worst start to a season in 67 years, fans will hope their inexperienced manager and his side will take solace from their friendly victory and can show marked improvement when they face the Canaries at home next weekend.
