Saturday's Eredivisie predictions including Heracles v. Sparta Rotterdam

Volendam vs. PEC Zwolle (Saturday, 5.45pm)

Two teams in dire need of a pick-me-up go head to head at the Kras Stadion on Saturday as FC Volendam entertain the challenge of PEC Zwolle.

Both teams are currently on a run of three straight defeats and neither will want to come away empty-handed from this weekend's encounter.

We say: FC Volendam 1-2 PEC Zwolle

The teams boast similar attacking records heading into this one but Zwolle have fared better defensively and we just about fancy them to emerge victorious at the end of the 90 minutes.

Sittard vs. Vitesse (Saturday, 7.00pm)

Round 14 of the 2023-24 Eredivisie season sees Fortuna Sittard and Vitesse go head to head at the Fortuna Sittard Stadion on Sunday evening.

Both teams were beaten in their respective last outings and they will be looking to get themselves back on track by securing all three points this weekend.

We say: Fortuna Sittard 2-1 Vitesse

Vitesse have the second-worst defensive record in the league and it is hard to see them coming away with a clean sheet here. We are tipping Fortuna to see off the threat of their visitors and come away with maximum points in the end.

RKC Waalwijk vs. Excelsior (Saturday, 7.00pm)

Relegation-threatened RKC Waalwijk welcome out-of-form SBV Excelsior in Saturday's gameweek 14 Eredivisie encounter at the Mandemakers Stadion.

The home side returned to winning ways in the previous round, but their mid-table opponents were not quite fortunate, losing for the third time in five after a 4-2 defeat against defending champions Feyenoord.

We say: RKC Waalwijk 1-1 SBV Excelsior

Waalwijk are yet to draw a game this season, but that could end on Saturday, as they welcome an Excelsior side with more stalemates (six) than any side in the Eredivisie.

A tie extends the home side's undefeated run against this weekend's opponents to five.

Heracles vs. Sparta (Saturday, 8.00pm)

Gameweek 14 in the Eredivisie will see Heracles taking on Sparta Rotterdam at Erve Asito in Almelo on Saturday evening.

The hosts are currently in 10th place in the league standings, with 15 points after 13 matches, while the visitors are sixth and three points ahead of their opponents.

We say: Heracles 1-1 Sparta Rotterdam

Following a very poor lead-up to the international break, Heracles got a much-needed victory last time out and will be hoping that was the turning point of the campaign for them. They face a much tougher opponent here, though, and while Sparta should dominate the possession in the match, we feel that these sides will end level at the full-time whistle.
