Cristiano Ronaldo has been named Manchester United's Player of the Month for October, despite Bruno Fernandes insisting David de Gea should win the award.
The former Sporting Lisbon, Real Madrid and Juventus star has won United's honour for the second month running since re-joining the club on deadline day.
Ronaldo was voted Player of the Month by supporters for scoring against Atalanta and Tottenham, with De Gea coming second and Marcus Rashford third.
The Portuguese forward received a remarkable 57 per cent of the vote, nearly twice as much as the Spanish goalkeeper (30 per cent).
October was a dismal month for United, picking up just four points from their four Premier League games and suffering a 5-0 home defeat to Liverpool.

Ronaldo's own performances weren't great, with the iconic player failing to suit manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's disastrous high-press formation.
And Fernandes is surprised his compatriot got the nod. Speaking to the club's website, he said: "It's difficult because Cristiano has been scoring goals, Rashy the same.
"David has conceded goals so it's difficult but if it wasn't for David, we would have conceded many more.
"For what he has done in the last month and has been doing since the start of the season I think he deserves it.
"But obviously we know the power of people who score goals, so, if I would vote, I would vote for David this time.
"As I said, it's a difficult one because Cristiano has scored important goals and Rashy. It's hard for the fans, but my vote is for David."
De Gea's form has improved significantly since United's penalty shootout defeat to Villarreal in the Europa League final in May.
The stopper didn't save a single penalty in the loss, missing his own, and went on to be dropped by Spain at Euro 2020.

But De Gea has worked hard since his disappointments earlier in the year and is starting to look like one of the best goalkeepers in the world again.
Speaking in August, Solskjaer revealed: "David called me over the summer and asked about coming in earlier.
"For me, that was a great message that 'I am here to fight, I'm energised, I have looked at my situation and will give everything I can to be the best David de Gea'.
"We all know that the best possible David de Gea is probably the best goalkeeper in the world. He's in his 11th season here, what a servant we've had."

United legend Rio Ferdinand, meanwhile, recently responded to Ronaldo's critics on his Vibe with Five YouTube channel.
He said: "I've heard some talk and the only way I can explain it, is it's blasphemy, when I heard some people talking about Ronaldo's the reason why Man United aren't going to be a success.
"Listen, I've been seeing too much of it. Don't talk like that, please. It's a disgrace, absolute disrespect."
