The 38-year-old is currently level with Kuwait striker Badr Al-Mutawa, equalling the current record holder after facing Morocco at the World Cup.
He left the pitch that day in tears as Portugal were eliminated and it raised doubts as to whether he would play for his country again.
However, after refinding his form for Al Nassr, Ronaldo was called up to Roberto Martinez's first squad as manager for the opening qualifying matches for Euro 2024.

And he is still determined to continue playing international football after he becomes the player with the most appearances of all time.
Ronaldo said: "Records are my motivation. I want to become the most-capped player in history. That would make me proud.
"But it doesn't stop there. I still want to be called up very often."
