Roma vs AC Milan Match Preview

leaguelane.com, 25 October 2019, 14:17

AC Milan will be looking to take advantage of Giallorossi’s injury crisis. Paulo Fonseca won’t be able to count on seven players this weekend.

Roma vs AC Milan: Head-to-head (h2h)

Overall Stats (54 games): Roma 18 wins, AC Milan 18 wins, 18 Draws.

Both teams have scored in six of the last nine head-to-head meetings.

Their latest outing at Olimpico failed to produce a winner (1-1).

Less than three goals have been scored in last five H2H games at Roma’s ground.

On average 2.26 goals have been scored per game in their meetings at Stadio Olimpico over the course of history.

Roma vs AC Milan: Predicted Starting Lineups

Roma (4-2-3-1): Lopez – Kolarov, Spinazzola, Smalling, Mancini – Pastore, Veretout – Perotti, Florenzi, Zaniolo - Dzeko.

AC Milan (4-3-3): Donnarumma – Hernandez, Calabria, Musacchio, Romagnoli – Biglia, Paqueta, Kessie – Suso, Calhanoglu, Leao.

Roma vs AC Milan: Prediction

6th placed AS Roma welcome AC Milan to Stadio Olimpico on Sunday. The injury-hit Giallorossi played out a rather dull goalless draw against Sampdoria last week and and went on to share the spoils with Borussia Monchengladbach (1-1) in the Europa League.

With Pellegrini, Cristante, Mkhitaryan, Diawara on the sidelines and Florenzi deemed unfit, Paulo Fonseca moved the centre-back Ganliuca Mancini to midfield and Edin Dzeko, who suffered double fracture of the cheekbone recently, had to play an entire game vs Gladbach since his understudies, Kalinic and Under, were also out.

For this one, Under should make the bench, but Kluivert is suspended.

The Rossoneri, sitting at 12th position with just 10 points to their name, were unlucky to concede a stoppage-time equalizer against Lecce in the previous round. AC Milan generated 12 goal-scoring chances on the night and looked dangerous, especially Hakan Calhanoglu who bagged a goal and provided an assist for Piatek in the second half, but Marco Calderoni’s late strike ruined Stefano Pioli’s debut.

Everyone bar Giacomo Bonaventura are fit to play.

Roma have win-draw-lose record of 1-2-1 at Olimpico this season. They’re netting and allowing the same amount of goals at this venue – 2 per game. Both teams have scored in 75% of their home games.

Milan, 2-0-2 away from home, upped their numbers after the slow, ‘underish’ start to the season. The Rossoneri are scoring and recieving 1 goal per game on the road. We have seen at least three goals and BTTS – Yes in their last four Serie A games.

I’m willing to back Milan to earn at least a point against shorthanded Giallorossi this weekend. Rossoneri are a work in progress, now more than ever, but I’ve seen some positives in their performance against Salentini.

Defence is still an issue, though, and Roma usually scores at home. Therefore, I’ll add BTTS – Yes as well. I’d love another 1-1 draw at Olimpico.

Roma vs AC Milan: Betting Tips

AC Milan or Draw @ 1.74

Both teams to score – Yes @ 1.64.
