Rangnick could strike gold in next manager hunt as Bayern frustrations emerge

Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann is reportedly 'growing frustrated' at the Bundesliga giants.

The German boss, who worked alongside Manchester United manager Ralf Rangnick at RB Leipzi g, only took over the reins at the Allianz Arena at the start of the season.

He is currently on course to mark his first season at Bayern with the Bundesliga title, having opened a six-point gap on Borussia Dortmund.

They also take on Austrian giants RB Salzburg in the round of 16 in the Champions League.

But with cracks already seemingly appearing in Nagelsmann's reign, Rangnick could very well be able to poach the 34-year-old managerial genius.

While Rangnick is currently in the Old Trafford dugout, he is expected to take up a two-year consultancy role in the backrooms of the club.

The Austrian will likely play a role in the appointment of United's next permanent manager.

And having helped coax Nagelsmann to RB Leipzig, when he was the director of football at the Bundesliga giants, Rangnick could very well seek a reunion with the Bayern boss.

Reports from BILD claim Nagelsmann is "starting to grow frustrated' with the Bayern board's lack of transfers.

Bayern signed Nagelsmann's former players Dayot Upamecano and Marcel Sabitzer from RB Leipzig, as well as Reading left-back Omar Richards and Hamburg goalkeeper Sven Ulreich in the summer.

However, the six-time European champions recently lost central defender Niklas Sule to arch-rivals Dortmund on a free transfer, while legendary striker Robert Lewandowski is believed to be keen on a new challenge next season.

And in the same way Nagelsmann's predecessor Hansi Flick grew frustrated at the powers that be above them, the former Hoffenheim boss is reportedly growing increasingly impatient.

Having led Bayern to a spectacular treble winning season in the 2019-20 season, and following it up with another Bundesliga title, Flick announced that he would resign from his post last April, before departing at the end of the season.

The now-Germany manager was believed to be caught in a power struggle with Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic.

Flick was believed to be frustrated that the club allowed Thiago Alcantara, Jerome Boateng, and David Alaba to leave the club, with the latter duo departing on free transfers.

And while the German outlet understands Nagelsmann's frustration is currently not at the level of Flick's, they believe tensions are bubbling.

United have so far been linked with a move for Paris Saint-Germain manager Mauricio Pochettino and Ajax boss Erik Ten Hag.

However, United have suffered a blow in their apparent pursuit of Pochettino, as a report from the Independent claims Pochettino could be a target for Real Madrid.

According to the report, Real Madrid owner Florentino Perez was so furious with Carlo Ancelotti's defensive approach in their 1-0 away loss to Paris Saint-Germain, that the Italian boss could be "set to play for his job in the second leg".

It also believes Pochettino could be next in line at the Bernabeu if Perez decides to part ways with Ancelotti for a second time.
