The match was won by 5-2 by Indonesia after extra time, but not after two separate fights broke out and four red cards were shown.

The first incident was headline-making at the end of regular time with Indonesia 2-1 up in Cambodia after the allotted seven minutes of extra time had expired.

Thinking the match was over when the whistle blew at 90:00+8:33, Indonesia's bench spilled onto the pitch, with the referee instantly waving the substitutes off as he'd in fact signalled for a free kick.
Once things had settled down, the match restarted with Thailand dramatically equalising, sending the match to extra time.
Such was the emotion that the Thailand bench ran to the opposition dugout to celebrate, and things quickly turned violent with kicks aimed each way.
But in extra time, Indonesia did eventually get their winner, sparking another touchline brawl which saw three red cards for Thailand, and one for Indonesia.

With the damage meaning Indonesia had ten players to Thailand's eight, two more goals were added for a 5-2 final score, seeing Indonesia clinch the gold medal in football for the first time since 1991.

The silver-medalists on the day received strong condemnation from their football association, who singled out the coaching staff.
In a statement, the TFA said: "The association would like to express its disappointment and apologise for the chaotic incident that occurred off pitch.
"Especially the staff and coach who represent all Thais, during every minute of their duty, they must maintain their calm emotions under high pressure.
"There will be a committee to investigate all those involved and there will be punishment, there will be no protection to those involved. The investigation will begin immediately when the team returns home."
