Pochettino's demands to break his contract with PSG

Mauricio Pochettino's exit from Paris Saint-Germain has been held up as the two parties have been unable to come to terms on his payoff from the Ligue 1 giants.

The writing was on the wall for the Argentine after Kylian Mbappe signed a new deal and Leonardo was relieved of his duties as sporting director.

However, he didn't expect that the terms of his dismissal would drag on to the end of June.

Pochettino is keen that he and his coaching staff receive payment for the final year remaining on their contract, without bonuses or prize money.

Monthly payments

It's also said he wants to receive that money on a monthly basis until he finds a new club, something PSG haven't agreed to as they don't want to payout the full amount.

Nevertheless, an agreement is all but inevitable as PSG already have a deal in place Christophe Galtier.

The tactician led Lille to the Ligue 1 title in 2021 before moving to Nice last season.

While it's possible the matter could reach the courts if no agreement is reached, its an option neither side are considering at this time.
