The 26-year-old Blues ace announced the loss of his dad, Wayne, on Instagram, paying tribute to his impact on his life.
"The reason I am where I am," he wrote.
"The most loving dad, who always put everyone before himself and made everyone smile and laugh.
"I am so glad we got to live my dream together, and especially you seeing me make my debut for England.
"But more importantly we shared so many amazing memories away from football which I will remember forever.

Wayne Chilwell was battling a chronic illness, with his daughter previously saying it had been a 'tough year' for the family.
Commenting on the post, Chilwell's Chelsea teammate Mason Mount wrote: "Sending all the love brother," while the club's account said: "Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family."
England teammate Jude Bellingham commented: "Sorry for your loss brother," and Declan Rice wrote: "Thinking of you mate!"
