Only two players have scored more goals on a Tuesday than Palace's Benteke

This week Crystal Palace manager Patrick Vieira has said both he and the club 'demand more' from his striker Christian Benteke.

So the Eagles boss will be happy to hear that the Palace front man has a habit of scoring on Tuesdays as his side head to Elland Road tonight.

The 30-year-old has scored a staggering 12 Premier League career goals on a Tuesday during his time playing in England.

This tally is so impressive that only two top flight giants have achieved more goals on this week day than the Belgian - Alan Shearer (15) and Wayne Rooney (13).

Palace face a struggling Leeds side at Elland Road this Tuesday night, and this will serve as the perfect chance for Palace's no.20 to not only grant his boss's wish to get on the score sheet more often, but to overtake Rooney's record.

The ex-Villa man has scored four times in 13 Premier League appearances for the South London club so far this season.

However Vieira is hoping that his striker can return to the form he found in his first season in South London back in 2016/17 in which he found the net 15 times in the league.

When better then for Benteke to reverse the decline in his goal scoring abilities than on his favourite day of the week?
