Joining from Leicester in a £80million deal, Maguire was later named club captain, but after a difficult 2021/22 under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick, his impact has dwindled.
He's now Ten Hag's third-choice centre back behind Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane, making half of his 24 appearances this season off of the bench.

That doesn't mean he can't have an impact, though, with the Carabao Cup winners already playing a whopping 46 games in all competitions.
Maguire returned to the line-up against Fulham in their FA Cup quarter-final at the weekend, and helped his team come from behind to win 3-1 on the night.
That was thanks to his leadership, too, with five minutes of chaos turning the match on its head.
Fulham had taken a second-half lead at Old Trafford through Aleksandar Mitrovic, but 22 minutes later Willian blocked a Jadon Sancho shot on the goalline with his hand.

That saw the Brazilian red carded, along with his manager Marco Silva and goalscorer Mitrovic who had a physical confrontation with referee Chris Kavanagh.
It took three minutes to clear up the drama, which was plenty of time for things to get in the mind of penalty taker Bruno Fernandes, but Maguire helped stop Fulham's distractions.

Fan footage captured the 30-year-old defender trying to quell Mitrovic, and he then moved onto Issa Diop.

With players surrounding referee Kavanagh, Diop was seen scuffing the penalty spot with his boot to try and ruin Fernandes' attempt.
Maguire shoved the lofty Frenchman off of the spot, and then spoke to him to try and resolve the matter.
Fans loved the leadership on show, with one writing on Twitter: "Look at Diop messing up the penalty spot! Maguire not having any of it!"
The efforts worked, with Fernandes dispatching his penalty before Marcel Sabitzer gave United the lead, and Fernandes then added a third.
