P SG confirmed on Saturday that Neymar, out with a left-ankle sprain, won't play again in 2020 and will return in January.

In an official statement the Parisian club announced that the Brazilian forward is being treated for bone bruising at the club's facilities.

Neymar picked up the injury on December 13 after a challenge from compatriot Thiago Mendes of Lyon in a match his team lost 1-0 despite home advantage.

Neymar was stretchered off the field in tears late in the game fearing the worst.

"They were cries caused by the pain, desperation, fear, anguish, surgery, crutches and other bad memories," Neymar said the following day.
