The Magpies got off to a winning start in pre-season with a convincing 5-1 victory against National League neighbours Gateshead.
Eddie Howe's side then travelled to Austria on a pre-season training camp in which they will face Munich and Mainz in quick succession.
Newcastle beat 1860 Munich 3-1 during their last meeting in the Intertoto Cup back in 2001 but Michael Kollner's side have since fallen on hard times, languishing in the third tier of German football.

This pre-season friendly will take place on Friday, July 15.
Kick-off at the Saalfelden Arena, home of Austrian outfit FC Pinzgau Saalfelden, will take place at 2.30pm UK time.
Newcastle will next travel to Portugal after their two games in Austria to take on Benfica with the Eusebio Cup up for grabs.
