The tourists completed an eight-wicket win on day four in Christchurch but have been sweating over the fitness of Ben Stokes since.
The England captain, who has missed four Tests this year with a hamstring injury, sparked further fitness concerns last week.
However, Stokes said: "I think the body is going to be good for this outing. I've not spent that much time out in the middle for a long time.
"I hurt my back diving for a ball on day one as well. It was more management than anything else: with where we were in the game, it didn't feel necessary to eke out any more balls than I needed to. I think the body is going to be good for this outing and I'm raring to go for Wellington."
Stokes' availability comes as a massive boost as England have the chance to secure a first series win in New Zealand since 2008.

New Zealand vs England second Test: What has been said?
Joe Root could become Test cricket's all-time leading run-scorer, but winning the Ashes on Australian soil is what he truly craves.
Indian legend Sachin Tendulkar sits atop the mountain for the most Test runs with a staggering count of 15,921 runs.
Ricky Ponting (13,378), Jacques Kallis (13,289) and Rahul Dravid (13,288) follow, with Root sitting fifth in the leaderboard on 12,777.
In an exclusive interview with England great and talkSPORT cricket pundit Steve Harmison, Root reacted to claiming the Ashes away.
"For me, that would be massive," Root told talkSPORT.
"And I think part of the problem from the last couple of times I went as captain, I wanted it too much.
"I looked too much into it and there were so many things that didn't quite fall into place for us. We didn't obviously perform when we were there too.

"So I think more than anything for me, it will be about trying to enjoy the whole experience of it and soak it all in, enjoy everything that comes with it. You, as a touring team, against a whole country, as it can be over there.
