Monday's Argentine Primera Division predictions including Banfield vs. River Plate

Newell's OB vs. Union (Monday, 6.00pm)

Union will be bidding to make it four straight victories in the Argentine Primera Division when they make the trip to Newell's Old Boys on Monday evening.

The visitors are currently 27th in the table, boasting 18 points from their opening 18 matches, while Newell's Old Boys occupy 11th, picking up 27 points from their first 19 games of the campaign.

San Lorenzo will be bidding to end a four-game winless run in all competitions when they continue their Argentine Primera Division campaign at home to Central Cordoba on Monday.

The home side are currently third in the table, boasting 36 points from their opening 19 matches of the season, while Central Cordoba sit down in 15th position, collecting 23 points from their first 19 games.

Central Cordoba are capable of making this a difficult game for San Lorenzo, and they will enter this match in strong form, but we are finding it tough to back against the home side, who are looking to triumph for the first time in almost one month.

Banfield can win back-to-back home fixtures in the Argentine Primera Division for the first time all season when they host River Plate on Monday at Estadio Florencio Sola.

Instituto vs. Racing (Tuesday, 1.45am)

For the first time in over 15 years, Instituto and Racing Club will face each other in an Argentine Primera Division clash set for Monday at Estadio Presidente Peron.

In their return to the top-flight, La Gloria are currently 20th with 21 points despite losing its previous encounter to Rosario Central 4-1, while La Academia are only a point above them in 18th, defeating Banfield 2-0 last Saturday.

Home field has been good to Insituto so far this year, and Racing do not look comfortable defending away from home, so we expect their hesitancy will cost them in this one.

Velez Sarsfield vs. Argentinos Jrs (Tuesday, 1.45am)

On Monday, Argentinos Juniors can end a four-match winless run versus Velez Sarsfield when the two sides face each other at Estadio Jose Amalfitani.

El Fortin are 23rd in the Argentine Primera Division right now with 18 points, following its 2-0 loss at Belgrano last Saturday, while Juniors are 12th after beating Platense 1-0.
