Matheus Cunha makes huge personal announcement before Arsenal game

The Brazilian took to Instagram to make the announcement as the likes of Joao Pedro, Diego Costa and Joelinton showed their support.

In a post on Instagram, Cunha and his wife Gabriela made the heartwarming reveal they were expecting a second child.

The picture was accompanied by the caption, translated from Portuguese: "And now we're four. Endlessly grateful to God for being so blessed."

The couple's first child, Levi, was born in May 2020 during the Brazilian's stint at Hertha Berlin.

The announcement comes amid a turbulent spell for Cunha and Wolves as the Black Country outfit sits in 17th on the Premier League table.

Cunha was also a rod for controversy following Wolves' 3-1 defeat away to Chelsea last Monday.

At full-time, a reporter on X accused Cunha of having 'poor' body language and that he headed straight down the tunnel.

The accusations prompted a fierce reply from Cunha, who branded the reporter a 'liar'.

However, Wolves boss Vitor Pereira was also critical of his star striker's body language in his post-match press conference.

"He can be frustrated because he wants to win, but everybody in the team wants to win," Pereira said.

"I don't like this body language. I want someone as a captain trying to help the team - running, suffering, fighting together.

"This is something I can understand. Next time, I will not understand."

Pereira will need the Brazilian to be at his brilliant best if Wolves is to climb away from danger.

But there's a chance Cunha does not remain at Molineux as he stalls over signing a new deal with Wolves.

Cunha's stance comes amid rumours linking him with a move elsewhere, with Arsenal reportedly interested in him.

Clubs have taken a keen eye to Cunha's performances this season having struck ten times and providing four assists from 21 Premier League fixtures this term.

It hasn't been all rosy for Cunha though as he was hit with a two-match ban and an £80,000 fine for his involvement in an altercation with an Ipswich Town staff member.

In the ensuing fracas, Cunha appeared to elbow the individual and removed his glasses after Ipswich secured a 2-1 win at Molineux in December.

Cunha could have copped a three-game ban and a £120,000 fine but he escaped the harsher punishment as he accepted the charge, offered a sincere apology and offered to pay for a new pair of glasses.
