After a poor start, the Red Devils have won their last four Premier League games in a row and, should they beat City, they'll have the same start they did when they last won the title.

It's been almost ten years since Manchester United last lifted the Premier League trophy, with the last win coming in 2012/13 under Sir Alex Ferguson in the iconic manager's final season at Old Trafford.
Since then, the closest the Red Devils have come to finishing top of the league was in 2020/21, when they finished second, 12 points behind winners and rivals City.

However, this weekend's 188th Manchester derby could be a good omen for the red side of the city should Erik ten Hag's side secure all three points at the Etihad Stadium.
After six matches, Man United are currently fifth on 12 points, with two losses - humiliations against Brentford and Brighton - followed by four straight wins under their belt, including against then-unbeaten and current league leaders Arsenal.
Should they win their seventh match, though, this will mirror their start to their title winning season in 2012/13.
The Red Devils began that campaign with a 1-0 away loss against Everton, before going on to win four games in a row - another good omen given that's their league form they enter the Manchester derb - against Fulham, Southampton, Wigan and Liverpool.

This was followed by a 3-2 loss against Tottenham, with their seventh game being a 3-0 victory against Newcastle away from home.
Ferguson's side eventually went on to be crowned champions with 89 points, 11 better than - you guessed it - Man City, who finished second.
And a win for Man United will have another layer to it for Ten Hag, too.

Securing all three points will mean the Dutchman will also be beating his former Bayern Munich colleague, Pep Guardiola.
Ten Hag was Bayern Munich's reserve side's boss whilst the Spaniard was the helm of the German club's first team between 2013 and 2015, with Guardiola often described as a mentor to Ten Hag during his early coaching career.
Could the student become the master this weekend?
