The 2022/2023 Premier League fixtures have been announced and after fans have quickly scrolled through their team's list, their eyes will quickly be drawn to the October date.
Reigning champions Man City will be taking on rivals Manchester United, hoping to put early pressure on Erik ten Hag by winning at the Etihad Stadium and it's also Arsenal vs Tottenham.
There's plenty of optimism at Old Trafford that new boss Ten Hag could be the man to finally turn around their fortunes in the post-Alex Ferguson era, but Pep Guardiola will be on hand to offer a hammer blow to his former prodigy, whom he worked with at Bayern Munich.
In the south, at the Emirates, things will be equally spicy as Arsenal aim to exact revenge on Spurs for beating them to the final Champions League spot.
As things stand, Spurs seem to be in the ascendancy, with serial winner Antonio Conte deciding to stay a further year at the club as manager.
He has already bolstered his squad with Ivan Perisic and Fraser Forster arriving, while Brighton's Yves Bissouma and Middlesbrough's Djed Spence look set to follow.
Meanwhile, Gunners boss Mikel Arteta has a huge job on his hands to get things ready for this match, with an almost strikerless squad following Alexandre Lacazette's free transfer to Lyon.
Applauded for his work last summer in securing Ben White, Aaron Ramsdale and Takehiro Tomiyasu, Arteta needs to find a perfect solution up front, or risk Spurs laying down an early and detrimental marker.
The reverse fixtures will then take place on January 14/15 at Old Trafford and White Hart Lane.
Elsewhere in the same month, we see Premier League title rivals Man City and Liverpool collide on the weekend of October 15/16 at Anfield.
It's set to be billed as the clash of the new boys with strikers Haaland and Darwin Nunez signed for big money already this summer.
Norway superstar Haaland arrived at City for £51million from Borussia Dortmund, while the Reds could eventually splash out a total of £85m on Nunez who starred for Benfica last season.
The reverse fixture will then come on April 1/2 in 2023 at the Etihad.
It's proof of levelling up in the battle for Premier League supremacy and we cannot wait to see how it pans out.
