Eleven weeks on from the 2024 FA Cup final, Manchester United and Manchester City will meet once again, with the bitter rivals locking horns in the Community Shield.

The Red Devils beat Pep Guardiola's side 2-1 in last season's FA Cup final to claim the trophy, while the Citizens won a fourth straight Premier League title in 2023-24.

Man United will begin their 2024-25 Premier League campaign against Fulham on August 16, while Man City will start their title defence with a clash against Chelsea on August 18.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Man United's injury and suspension news ahead of their contest with Man City, as the two rivals lock horns in the first Manchester derby of the new campaign.

Leny Yoro

Status: Out

Type of injury: Foot

Possible return date: November 2 (vs. Chelsea)

New signing Yoro will be on the sidelines for the next three months due to the fractured metatarsal that he suffered during the recent pre-season friendly with Arsenal.

Rasmus Hojlund

Status: Out

Type of injury: Hamstring

Possible return date: September 14 (vs. Southampton)

Hojlund picked up a hamstring injury during the recent pre-season fixture with Arsenal, and the Denmark international will be missing until the middle of September.

Tyrell Malacia

Status: Out

Type of injury: Knee

Possible return date: Unknown

Malacia missed the entirety of last season due to a serious knee injury, and the Dutchman is still not ready to return, but the left-back could be back in the Man United squad before the end of the year.

Jonny Evans

Status: Minor doubt

Type of injury: Illness

Possible return date: August 10 (vs. Man City)

Evans was replaced at the interval of the friendly with Liverpool on Saturday due to illness, but the experienced centre-back should have recovered in time to feature in the Community Shield.

Victor Lindelof

Status: Minor doubt

Type of injury: Unknown

Possible return date: August 10 (vs. Man City)

Lindelof, who continues to be linked with a summer exit, was substituted against Liverpool last time out due to a minor injury, but it is not expected to rule him out of the clash with the Citizens.

MANCHESTER UNITED'S SUSPENSION LIST

Man United have no players suspended for the Community Shield.
