Manchester United have been slammed for the 'shambolic' way they have gone about their transfer business so far this summer.
The Red Devils have so far been able to only bring in one player, despite Erik ten Hag 's arrival as manager appearing to signal a new era. But so far, their business has stalled badly, with Tyrell Malacia the sole new signing as United prepare to jet off on their pre-season tour to Asia and Australia.
With the start of the new Premier League season also just a month away, it leaves United playing catch-up to their rivals. Arsenal, Tottenham, Liverpool and Manchester City have all been far more active in overhauling their respective squads, with the Red Devils trailing behind.
It is certainly not the best start for Ten Hag to be starting his reign with, especially given the depleted nature of some areas of his squad, with midfield in particular appearing lightweight. But there is little sign of progress on any of the targets who Ten Hag is keen to bring to Old Trafford.
That slow going has attracted frequent criticism from many pundits and has now seen United slammed as being 'shambolic'. Former Aston Villa star Gabby Agbonlahor has also warned to the Red Devils that Tottenham now represent a more attractive destination.
"If I had the choice to go to Manchester City or Liverpool before Manchester United, it would be a no-brainer. But I'd also go to Chelsea before Manchester United and I'd choose Spurs now," Agbonlahor told talkSPORT.

"If I was a player now, and I had the choice to go to Spurs or Manchester United, I'm going to Spurs. I'd even go to Arsenal before Manchester United, they're a shambles. Ronaldo wants to leave because of it.
"They've got players they can't rely on, and even De Jong from Barcelona. He's like, 'I might go but I'll see how I feel. I'll let you know in a month'. That's what Manchester United have come to.
"It's actually embarrassing for Manchester United fans. They've become that club that players are like to their agent, 'If I can go to Spurs I'll go there but, if not, then gone then I'll go to Man United. I think that's what it's come to."
In contrast to Ten Hag Spurs boss Antonio Conte has had a busy summer, boosting his squad with the signings of Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster, Yves Bissouma and Richarlison. Tottenham have strengthed so well that some are even tipping them for an outside chance at a title challenge.
No-one is saying the same thing about United, especially given their slow progress in bringing in Ten Hag's targets. Deals for Frenkie de Jong, Lisandro Martinez and Antony all appear to be some way off completion.
That is a huge concern given the overhaul that Ten Hag was expecting to launch this summer. Agbonlahor's damning criticism looks to be deadly accurate, which will not please the United boss as he takes his squad off for their first friendlies.
