Manchester United have joined the race to find the ideal player to replace Paul Pogba in the summer - and he is going cheap.
The France international has yet to put pen to paper over a new contract at Old Trafford with his current deal set to expire at the end of the season.
It means the 28-year-old could leave the club for nothing - five years after United splashed out a then-world record fee of £89m on his services.
Foreign clubs will be able to speak to Pogba and his agent Mino Raiola from January about a pre-contract agreement.
That could well be what happens after the New Year, with several teams already being interested in the long-term.
They include Real Madrid, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain, who all could fork out to pay his wages.
But that leaves United with a huge problem, both financially and as a squad as losing such a marketable player for nothing is sure to hurt those in charge.
Nevertheless, the Red Devils have already identified the right man to fill Pogba's boots should he leave - and he could be signed for a modest fee.
Marseille star Boubacar Kamara is also out of contract at the end of the season and is weighing up a move to the Premier League.
According to The Athletic, United are in the race to snap up the 22-year-old - who has impressed in central midfield.
It is further reported that Kamara has made up his mind about leaving at the end of the season amid hefty interest in his services.
However, it might be in Marseille's interest to sell him in January and try garner at least a fee rather than lose him for nothing.
United are not the only ones keen on the Frenchman's services with Wolves and Newcastle also in the race.
Abroad, the likes of Barcelona and Bayern Munich have eyed a move as well - meaning United have a battle on their hands.
Ralf Rangnick has made central midfield a key position to improve on in the next two transfer windows.
