The Red Devils are already drawing up summer plans in a bid to avoid a repeat of what is proving to be a disappointing season.
Man United are languishing in 15th place in the Premier League table after mustering just 29 points from 25 matches.
Their lack of threat in front of goal has proven to be one of the main factors behind their struggles, with 28 league goals making them the fifth-lowest scorers in the top flight this season.
Rasmus Hojlund has got on the scoresheet on just two occasions in the Premier League this term, while Joshua Zirkzee has netted just three top-flight goals since arriving from Bologna in the summer.
Man United send scouts to watch Osimhen
A recent report claimed that Man United will look to bolster Ruben Amorim's striker options ahead of the 2025-26 season.
The Red Devils have been linked with a number of possible targets, including a move for Sporting Lisbon marksman Viktor Gyokeres.
Napoli's Osimhen, who is currently on loan at Galatasaray is another player who has been mentioned as a viable option for the Red Devils.
According to talkSPORT, Man United have sent scouts to watch Osimhen in action ahead of a potential summer move.
The Nigeria international scored two goals in Galatasaray's 2-1 win over Caykur Rizespor on Monday, moving them six points clear of Fenerbahce in the Turkish Super Lig title race.
The Galatasaray forward has now scored 19 goals in 24 competitive appearances, including 14 goals in 18 top-flight matches.
Man United to face hurdles in Osimhen pursuit
Napoli will look to secure a permanent transfer for Osimhen's exit when he returns from his loan spell with Galatasaray at the end of the season.
Man United may not have it easy in their pursuit due to Osimhen's wage demands with the striker currently earning around £200,000 a week.
The Nigerian will also be keen to join a club playing Champions League which Man United will not be able to offer unless they win the Europa League.
The Red Devils are also facing competition from French champions Paris Saint-Germain, who could look to reunite Osimhen with his former Napoli teammate Khvicha Kvaratskhelia at the Parc des Princes.
Luis Enrique's side should have space for a new striker, with the club expected to seek a permanent exit for Randal Kolo Muani following his loan period with Juventus.
