Man United interested in potential Pogba replacement who would cost less than Rice

Tchouameni turns 22 in January and is one of the most highly coveted young players in the world after an impressive calendar year and has numerous suitors, if rumours are to be believed.

Arguably, this is exactly what Manchester United have needed under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, so it no surprise to see the Red Devils linked alongside the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool, Barcelona and Real Madrid.

United could be tempted to make a bid in the January transfer window amid confusion around the future of Paul Pogba, who is potentially off in the summer for free.

A potential replacement was West Ham United's Declan Rice, yet his price tag seemingly continues to soar after leading the Hammers to third in the Premier League and into the knockout stages of the Europa League.

David Moyes has previously said it would take 'Bank of England Money' to prise Rice away, meaning £40m for Tchouameni would represent a much cheaper alternative.
