The Brazilian midfielder arrived from Real Madrid for a fee worth around £70million - a price tag that many sniffed at due to the player's then-age of 30, however supporters can now see why he was worth every penny.

The 31-year-old has brought genuine steel and leadership into Erik ten Hag's side, a vital ingredient in what has been a really successful season on the pitch.
As well as helping the club to victory in the Carabao Cup and what looks like a nailed on place in the top four, Casemiro showed his mettle again by inspiring United to victory over Brighton in the FA Cup semi final.

Casemiro did wonderfully well to nullify the attacking threat of the Seagulls, while in the penalty shootout he certainly came into his own as well.
Footage has emerged of Man United's team huddle before the shootout, with Steve McClaren appearing to ask the players who would like to take the first penalty.
Without hesitation, Casemiro raised his hand.
Even better than that, the midfielder stepped up and sent Robert Sanchez the wrong way to get United's penalty shootout off to the best possible start.

One supporter said: "Casemiro is a true captain! Not only does he lead by example on the field, but he also isn't afraid to step up and take charge in high-pressure situations."
Another said: "He didn't have his best game today but the impact he's had is huge and undeniable, while another said: "So lucky we got him."
One more supporter simply couldn't hide his adoration for the player, saying: "I love this guy, man."

While some players would then choose to sit back after doing their duty for the team, Casemiro wasn't done as he danced and made a show of himself on the halfway line.
Some fans suggested it was an attempt to give advice to David de Gea to make himself more imposing in the Man United goal.
Luckily for the Red Devils, they did not need De Gea to save a penalty as Solly March's miss was enough to send them through.
