Man United fans incensed over Luke Shaw's TikTok video with Molly-Mae Hague

In a clip that has gone viral, Shaw was seen partaking in a trend where people lip-sync lyrics to Pete and Bas' song 'Mugshot' on the video-sharing platform.

The light-hearted video was filmed on New Year's Eve at a bash which Shaw attended with partner Anouska and Tommy Fury's ex-girlfriend - and Love Island star - Molly-Mae.

In the short clip, Shaw makes a brief appearance around the 11-second mark, where he mimed the lyric, 'Your mum's on benefits.'

His cameo has enraged United fans, who have taken exception to his jolly attitude as the club continue to disappoint.

United sit in 14th spot in the Premier League - just seven points clear of the bottom three - having lost five of their last six top-flight matches.

And things could get worse for United, who have been defeated in four consecutive matches in all all competitions, with the club to face rivals Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday.

Meanwhile many United fans would rather see injured Shaw work on his recovery plan having played just 98 minutes of football this season spread across three substitute appearances.

For United fan and talkSPORT reporter Angelina Kelly, she shares the same thoughts as many supporters - insisting it is 'not the best look' for Shaw.

Speaking on the talkSPORT Breakfast show, she said: "I think people are just a bit confused.

"I don't think people realised that there was a space that they [Shaw and Molly-Mae] coexisted in together.

"But I think it's just not the best look when you've been injured for four-and-a-half-years in total with Manchester United and you're having a bit of a laugh and joke on social media when Man United are in a really difficult time.

"That's why people are wound up, but I guess on the other hand, footballers are human beings.

"If he's in a video having a laugh and a joke, is that the end of the world?

"But for me personally, I just think if you're a footballer, you're on X amount of money, like I said, you've been injured for so long, you have to have a little bit of awareness.

"And you have to have awareness of how that's going to look - that you are maybe not too fussed.

"We've heard it all before, big names at Manchester United talking about when [Paul] Pogba and Jesse Lingard would be dancing in the dressing room after they've lost a game.

"It's maybe a mentality thing that people just want to see, Man United players taking this situation seriously.

"And I guess having a laugh and a joke with Molly-Mae isn't the best look."

It's safe to say Shaw has been a major talking point on social media, as one X user said: "Reason number 25474846 to get rid of Luke Shaw."

Another United fan posted: "Scrolling on TikTok and I can't believe who's just told me that my mum is on benefits whilst my club is fighting relegation. My head is hot."

A third added: "Manchester United in the worst form of my lifetime and Luke Shaw is doing TikTok's with Molly-Mae."

This fan then messaged: "This is not acceptable of any Manchester United player especially one whose contributions minimal."

Though there were fans sticking up for Shaw, who simply pointed out he was having son fun with mates away from football.

This user commented: "Oh no, a fella enjoying a night out at Christmas / New Years with his friends."
