The West Midlands outfit will attempt to strengthen their position in the survival fight when they make the trip to Anfield to face the top-flight leaders.

With Liverpool having won 12 of the last 14 matches between the two clubs, they are the clear favourites to bolster their title charge with another three points.

That particularly rings true when considering that Liverpool have accumulated 26 points from their 11 league fixtures at their Merseyside home during 2024-25.

Nevertheless, speaking to reporters at a press conference on Friday, Pereira gave every indication that Wolves would attack Arne Slot's side.

Wolves head into this contest on the back of consecutive 2-0 victories over Aston Villa and Blackburn Rovers respectively, and that has seemingly encouraged Pereira to avoid an overly-defensive approach.

The Portuguese said: "I'm not thinking about going there to defend for 90 minutes and take a point. I'm looking to prepare the team to play our way with our quality, and to get the best possible result.

"We must defend them with our tools, but I believe we will play a good game and for sure fight for the result."

With the game taking place on Sunday, Wolves will be aware of how nearest rivals Leicester City and Ipswich Town have fared against Arsenal and Aston Villa respectively.

There is currently a two-point gap between Wolves and Leicester, with a further one point to 19th-placed Ipswich.

Improving away record

Wolves head into this contest having recorded just nine points from their 12 away matches in this season's Premier League.

Furthermore, 28 goals have been conceded during those encounters, but Pereira has already racked up three away wins in charge of Wolves.

As well as overcoming Championship duo Bristol City and Blackburn in the FA Cup, Wolves breezed past Leicester in his first game in charge back in December.

A week on from that fixture, Wolves also earned a 2-2 draw at Tottenham Hotspur.
