Kylian Mbappe buries the hatchet with Neymar after furious rant at PSG teammate

Kylian Mbappe and Neymar appear to be back on good terms despite the Frenchman's bitter comments about his teammate during Paris Saint-Germain's most-recent fixture.

Tensions between the two superstar forwards came to a head during the 2-0 victory over Montpellier on Saturday.

Mbappe was substituted off moments after Julian Draxler doubled PSG's lead and leaked footage captured by Canal+ showed he was furious with Neymar for not passing to him throughout the Ligue 1 clash.

"Yes, yes, he doesn't give the pass to me," Mbappe is believed to have said of Neymar, while French outlet L'Equipe claim the 22-year-old also used a pejorative word to describe the Brazilian.

But the duo seem to have put the incident firmly behind them, as they were back in training on Monday with smiles on their faces.

They worked alongside Lionel Messi, who appears to have shaken off a knock in time to face Manchester City in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Mbappe, Neymar and Messi lined up together for the first time in PSG's previous European outing but failed to live up to their billing in a 1-1 draw at Club Brugge.

Mauricio Pochettino is confident his side will secure a better outcome as the Premier League champions come calling to the Parc des Princes.

"I don't know if it's the perfect night but it's a good night with these three points won," Pochettino said after the victory over Montpellier.

"Eight wins in eight matches. It's a good way to prepare for Manchester City's visit in a competition, the Champions League, which is very important for the club and against a very strong opponent."

As Pochettino alluded to, PSG have a 100 per cent record in Ligue 1 having scored 22 goals while conceding just seven.

But the Argentine knows City are a different beast to his domestic opposition and will look to PSG's defence to keep Pep Guardiola's side at bay.

"In general, over time it's normal that we improve in all areas," said Pochettino. "The team was defensively stronger today. We can't compartmentalise the team, it's a whole.

"The team showed defensive strength in every line. We're under construction, but it takes time to continue to progress. In attack, we know that we must improve."

Messi is still waiting to get off the mark for PSG having joined from Barcelona on a free transfer this summer.

Mbappe has four goals and four assists while Neymar has one goal and two assists after missing the start of the season due to a lack of fitness.
