The Real Madrid midfielder angrily stormed out of an interview in the aftermath of the Spanish side's Champions League victory over Liverpool and has now come clean on why he did it

Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos has revealed he was 'p***** off' at a journalist, leading him to storm out of an interview following the Spanish side's Champions League win over Liverpool.

The playmaker was interviewed by a German broadcaster on the pitch in the aftermath of Real's 14th European victory but the line of questioning did not particularly go the way that it was originally intended.

After being asked if he was taking the win for granted, and whether he was surprised that Real were put under pressure by Liverpool, Kroos snapped back at the journalist before walking away in fury. He said: "You had 90 minutes to think about sensible questions. And then you ask me two s****y questions. That's crazy."

"It's not surprising that you get into trouble against Liverpool. What is that a question? We're not playing a group game somewhere, we're playing the Champions League final."

He continued: "It's really bad. Really bad, really. First you ask three negative questions. You already know that you come from Germany."

Now with the dust just beginning to settle on Real's success at the Stade de France, Kroos has explained exactly what triggered his somewhat unexpected reaction. Speaking on the Einfach mal luppen podcast alongside his brother Felix, he explained that the journalists line of questioning left him furious.

Did Real Madrid deserve to win the Champions League against Liverpool? Have your say in the comments below.

He said: "You can ask: 'How did you watch the game? I wouldn't have said we put them against the wall from the first minute until the 90th minute.

"I'm the first to say it was a close game and Liverpool probably had some chances. more. But we won the game, like in the last few months. But instead I wanted to hear that we won unfairly. I don't give a s*** in a final, you have to win it.

"At the time I was just p***** off. I was p***** off at him. Of course we had to go through two or three pressure phases, I also told him that when he asked the question. But that's normal.

"What do you expect? That we dominate Liverpool during 90 minutes? They're a world-class team. We had to beat them and that's what we did."

In the end, Vinicius Jr's second-half strike was enough for Real to claim victory in the French capital, albeit with the assistance of goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois - the Belgian producing a number of world class saves.

Kroos, 32, played the full 90 minutes of the final, helping himself to the fifth Champions League medal of his career.
