The Tottenham striker has already netted 49 goals for his country in 68 appearances, putting him joint-second in England's scoring chart with Sir Bobby Charlton.
However, speaking exclusively to Faye Carruthers, the Spurs talisman has insisted that he's taking a relaxed approach to the landmark.
He told talkSPORT: "I always go into games feeling confident and like I can score when opportunities come so I'll go into the game with the same feeling.
"I try not to think about the 50 too much, I know that you guys will bring it up before most of the games, but as always in my career I just go game-by-game and step-by-step.
"Of course I'd love to score and I'd love to win to reach that 50-mark, but if it doesn't happen then it's no drama and it'll be onto the next game and focusing on that.
"That's my mindset and that's really helped me to get to where I am now."
One player who will be looking to challenge Kane for his spot in the England side moving forward is Abraham.
The ex-Chelsea man has been in prolific form for new club Roma after scoring 27 goals for Jose Mourinho's side this term and, according to Kane, the 24-year-old is showing his will to improve while with the Three Lions.
Kane said: "I think that Tammy is a great player.
"He's had a fantastic season at club level, he's still learning and has experience to gain but every time he comes here he works hard and trains hard.
"He wants to impress the manager, he wants to score goals and of course it's great to have competition in every position and in the Premier League we have some great English strikers who are scoring goals on a regular basis.
"Tammy is doing that for Roma as well so he's a great player and I'm sure he'll want to keep improving, keep working hard and that's what he'll try and do in this camp and going back to club level as well."
