Jadon Sancho takes 68 games fewer to match Manchester United record with Chelsea

The Blues winger set up top scorer Cole Palmer for the opening goal away at Crystal Palace, and it was arguably his best contribution yet.

With the ball played to him on the halfway line by Levi Colwill, Sancho let it run through his legs, tricking Palace's Chris Richards.

He then spun round the defender, collected the ball, carried it into the box and snuck it past three opposition players for Palmer to collect and score expertly.

The assist was Sancho's sixth in Chelsea colours since his loan move from Manchester United, and it came in just his 15th game in all competitions.

Rather incredibly, that's the same figure he recorded at Old Trafford, but in 83 games.

In the Premier League, four assists is already his highest ever, better than any haul for the Red Devils.

However, he never settled in at the club, and left on loan back at Dortmund for the second half of the 2023/24 season.

Despite links to a permanent move back to Germany, he instead rocked up at Stamford Bridge on loan with an obligation to buy.

The move was questioned with Chelsea stacked full of players on the wings, but the cream has since risen to the top.

The 24-year-old has started ten games, more than competitors for his spot like Joao Felix and Christopher Nkunku.

He's also joint second for assists, with Enzo Fernandez the only Chelsea player who has more.

Sancho recorded a massive 53 goals and 60 assists in 158 games while with BVB as he emerged as one of the best young talents in football.
