Jack Wilshere wows in five-a-side match and footage shows teammates were stunned

talksport.com, 11 September 2023, 11:13
Ex-Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere left his teammates astonished during a five-a-side match that was caught on video.

The 31-year-old is currently Arsenal Under-18s head coach after previously hanging up his boots in July 2022 at the age of 30.

Having previously starred under Arsene Wenger, making 197 appearances for the Gunners, until injuries struck, Wilshere has since proven he still has what it takes.

The midfielder was recently involved in a five-a-side match and showed that he still has the talent.

Wilshere can be seen dribbling, whilst dancing his way past several amateur players with the ball in stunning fashion.

He was taking part in the group Shoot For Love, in a pick-up game in London, with footage since emerging of his tremendous talents.

After dazzling, many lauded Wilshere and were delighted to see him back doing what he loves.

One said: "It's devastating what injuries did to Wilshere's career, he was one of the best talent in Arsenal History."

Another added: "Despite his short career, he'll always be remembered as THAT kid who bossed the midfield against Barcelona. Nobody can ever take that away from him. we'll always love you Jack."

A third wrote: "Watching Wilshere play again even though it's just with amateur guys really made my day."

With another stating: "Unbelievable player! I hope his coaching career takes him to even bigger heights his career was."

After lengthy spells on the sidelines alongside stints and Bournemouth and West Ham, the former England international decided to call time on his career.

The midfielder was forced to have surgery on his ankle, knee and calfbone while at Arsenal which saw him miss over 100 games.

Then after a move to West Ham, he would miss a total of 59 games in three years at the club.

Now in charge of Arsenal's Under-18 side, he claims that coaching has helped to reignite his 'real deep love for football'.

"I love it, honestly," he told The Independent in April.

"It's given me back the real deep love for football and I didn't know I'd lost it, to be honest. I came back here last year and I was coaching a bit, training a bit.

"When I came back here, and it might be because it's Arsenal, I feel like people here genuinely care about me, which is nice.
