One of the toughest assignments in football at the best of times, Hertha are without experienced striker Stevan Jovetic for the visit of the defending champions. The Montenegrin had found fitness and form, before going off with a groin injury in the first half of the last-gasp 1-0 loss to Werder Bremen on Bundesliga Matchday 12. Head coach Sandro Schwarz could opt for a like-for-like replacement in attack, though Ivan Sunjic may be the safer bet as an extra man in central midfield. Defender Filip Uremovic is another starting option after returning to the bench last time out as the Old Lady - just two points above the relegation zone with three rounds of fixtures still to play before the 2022 FIFA World Cup and winter break - chase only their third win of the campaign.

The form books suggest Hertha will have to wait at least another week to achieve that objective. Bayern have been unstoppable of late, brushing aside Freiburg, Hoffenheim and Mainz in the Bundesliga by an aggregate score of 13-2 to close the gap on leaders Union Berlin to a point. They've also recorded comfortable wins over Viktoria Plzen, Barcelona and Inter Milan in the UEFA Champions League, and Augsburg in the DFB Cup. Mane scored one and assisted two in the 6-2 drubbing of Mainz, while Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting made it seven goals in six games as Julian Nagelsmann's rampant charges capped a perfect and historic Champions League group stage at home to Inter. Manuel Neuer and Thomas Müller remain doubts, but Matthijs de Ligt, Alphonso Davies, Leon Goretzka and Serge Gnabry are all expected to be rotated back into the starting line-up.

Choupo-Moting has scored in three straight Bundesliga games. Four in succession would be a personal record.

Jamal Musiala is the joint-highest-scoring midfielder in this season's Bundesliga, along with Eintracht Frankfurt's seven-goal Daichi Kamada. Five of the teen's efforts have come in the first half of matches.

Indeed, Bayern have scored a league-high 24 of their 38 goals so far this season in the first half of games. Hertha have struck just four times before the half-time whistle.

Hertha top scorer Dodi Lukebakio struck five times in his first three appearances against Bayern - including a hat-trick for Fortuna Düsseldorf in a 3-3 draw at the Allianz Arena on Matchday 12 of 2018/19 - but has been kept quiet in his last four.

Hertha have claimed one point across their previous seven meetings with Bayern, whilst losing their last five in a row.

The Old Lady have not won back-to-back home matches in the Bundesliga since December 2021.
