Harvey Elliott injury: When could Liverpool ace return and what has been said?

Elliott posted a selfie from an ambulance immediately afterwards and wrote: "Thank you for the messages guys! Road to recovery. YNWA."

"It is a bad injury. Ankle, I heard it was dislocated and they couldn't put it back. He's in hospital so now we have to wait," Klopp said.

"He played again an incredible match. He's an incredible player. Now he's out. Do I want such a young boy to experience this so early in his career? No. But now it's the case and we have to be there and we will be there.

The Liverpool boss added: "We'll play without him, but we will wait for him as well because he is a top player.

"[He was in] massive pain, shock for him, for us and we don't know more. We have to wait.

"I cannot feel the game anymore. Harvey overshadows everything."

Liverpool have confirmed that Elliott has been discharged from hospital.

They added in the statement: "Elliott will be required to undergo surgery in the coming days and the club will offer a further update on his prognosis in due course.

"Harvey, his family and Liverpool FC would like to place on record their thanks to the paramedics and all the staff at Leeds General Infirmary for the care and treatment given."
