The superstar striker, signed from Borussia Dortmund, will get his first taste of competitive action in a Manchester City shirt against West Ham on 7 August.
City have won the Premier League title in three of the last four seasons, and the prospect of a deadly finisher like Haaland in their ranks is frightening.
The 21-year-old terrorised defences in Germany, firing in 86 goals in 89 games for Dortmund.
It was a major coup for City to land the fearsome striker, amid interest from the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid.
"This is a proud day for me and my family," he told mancity.com after completing his move.
"I have always watched City and have loved doing so in recent seasons. You can't help but admire their style of play, it's exciting and they create a lot of chances, which is perfect for a player like me.
"There are so many world-class players in this squad and Pep is one of the greatest managers of all-time, so I believe I am in the right place to fulfil my ambitions."
The Haaland family will be watching with interest on Boxing Day when the City striker faces another one of dad's old teams in Leeds.
Erling was born in the Leeds in 2000 shortly before Alf-Inge Haaland joined City himself.
City have signed Haaland to not only help them win the Champions League, but also continue their dominance in English football.
They play rivals Liverpool on 15 October, but begin the month with a Manchester derby.
