Conor McGregor was supported by Jesse Lingard, and over in Spain it looked like Luis Suarez was sending a message to Barcelona boss Ronald Koeman.
Here's our choice of the best from the socials this weekend.
DON'T SIUUU ME!
Andros Townsend had quite a bit to boast about as he earned Everton an equaliser with Manchester United and his celebration raised a few eyebrows.
The winger copied Cristiano Ronaldo's iconic 'Siuuu' celebration.
For what some had thought was a display of mockery, Townsend cleared up the confusion as he posted pictures of the celebratory moment along with Ronaldo's shirt with the caption: "Nothing but respect for the GOAT'.
In the post-match interview Townsend said: "I was not imitating, it's just a mark of respect to a guy who influenced my career.
"Maybe I should have spent a bit longer on the celebration because it wasn't great, but it was out of respect for Cristiano, and it is an honour to be in the same field as him.
"This guy is my idol"
'TOOTHLESS' DISPLAY
Arsenal travelled back home with a point from Brighton, but Gabriel Magalhaes returned home minus two teeth.
With a broken smile, Gabriel visited his dentist to have his teeth fixed and in the early hours of Sunday the Brazilian posted on his Instagram story showing off his newly-repaired railings.
The Brazilian lost one of his pearly whites during the club's celebratory send-off for David Luiz, with Thomas Partey and Willian failing to contain their laughter.
In hilarious scenes after the game, Arsenal groundsmen and coaching staff could be seen aiding Gabriel's search in the background while manager Mikel Arteta and his players were conducting their post-match interviews.
When asked about the incident, Gunners boss Arteta laughed and told reporters: "You guys are here and very close to him so you can help him."
THE MMA INFLUENCE
Not one, but two mixed martial arts artists graced our social feeds during the Manchester United and Everton clash.
While promoting his Proper Twelve Whiskey, Conor McGregor posted on Instagram wearing a retro Manchester United kit from the 1990's, featuring the club's iconic former sponsor Sharp.
United's Jesse Linagrd showed his appreciation to McGregor by commenting with a handshake emoji alongside a red circle.
And McGregor's nemesis, Khabib Nurmagomedov was present at Old Trafford on Saturday and was seen holding his own personalised No 7 shirt, representing his hero - Ronaldo.
It is a known fact that Khabib and Cristiano Ronaldo go way back, having become close friends during the Portugal forward's time at Real Madrid, who Khabib supports.
MELTDOWN AT ANFIELD
Liverpool's James Milner was tormented by Manchester City, especially by Phil Foden according to Roy Keane.
The former Manchester United man jokingly claimed that Milner had 'gone home in an ambulance' as he could not keep up with the 21-year old's pace.
And Manchester City fans loved Keane's statement:
Roy Keane's statement came shortly after Pep Guardiola's touchline meltdown, where the Spaniard believed James Milner should have been sent off after fouling Bernado Silva.
Raging in anger and mouthing off to the fourth official Mike Dean, the Manchester City boss threw off his jacket which was followed by a yellow card booking.
CRYPTIC CELEBRATION
Over in La Liga, Luis Suarez celebrated his goal against his former club Barcelona by making the gesture of a phone call to Ronald Koeman as he watched from the stands.
It was reported that Koeman spoke to Suarez in a phone call that lasted just 60 seconds telling the star his time at the Nou Camp was over.
The under-fire Dutchman watched Atletico Madrid beat his team in a 2-0 defeat and fans were quick to share Suarez's celebration online.
However, when asked what the celebration meant, Suarez said: "It was for the people who know I have the same number, so they know I'm still on my phone.
"It was something I had agreed on with my kids. It was not for Koeman, not at all."
