Neymar looks set to be shipped out of Paris Saint-Germain this summer as the French champions look to reboot their flailing football project.
According to reports in France, the Ligue 1 side want to offload the £600,000-a-week star so they rebuild their unbalanced squad around Kylian Mbappe.
Neymar joined PSG in a world record £200million deal from Barcelona in 2017 but injury has hampered his time in the French capital with the 31-year-old having played just 52 percent of the club's games since his arrival.
PSG sporting advisor Luis Campos has been tasked with finding an exit strategy for Neymar with Manchester United rumoured to be interested, according to French daily, L'Equipe.
But Sir Alex Ferguson's former No.2, Meulensteen, admits to having concerns over a possible pursuit of the Brazil star whilst labelling him a 'prima donna'.
"It's probably rumours and speculation, everybody keeps tight-lipped about it," Meulensteen told talkSPORT Breakfast.
"I have my reservations about it because he's obviously a high-calibre player but he's also a prima donna.
"He's never played in the Premier League. Playing in Spain and France is completely different. Also his best position is playing on the left wing and you're gonna go with [Marcus] Rashford."
When quizzed on a move for the PSG star earlier this week, United boss Erik ten Hag kept schtum, telling reporters: "When I have news, I'll tell you."

Ten Hag's short and snappy response left those watching with more questions than answers as to whether there is a possibility of a move this summer.
Despite his opposition, Meulensteen recognises the commercial benefits Neymar would bring to the club and why the owners may look favourably on a move.
"You don't know what you're going to get on the pitch [from Neymar]," he added. "You know you'll get a commercial return that obviously the ownership will like.
"But you need to look into it and that's why I think Erik keeps his cards close to his chest on this one."
But talkSPORT pundit Gabby Agbonlahor think it's a terrible idea, claiming no Premier League club would want to sign the Brazilian star as he is more trouble than he is worth.
The former Aston Villa captain said: "When Ten Hag went to Man United he had a problem - Cristiano Ronaldo.
"Everybody knows how good Ronaldo is, but his ego was embarrassing at times.
"Why would you bring another big ego into a dressing room after you've finally sorted it out? Why would you bring that problem into your team? I don't see it.

"It doesn't make sense financially, either. He's on silly money at PSG and they're going to want a decent fee and his wages are going to be something silly.
"I don't see it happening. I don't think any Premier League club would want to bring that level of ego into their side."
