Frankfurt are already certain of a top-two finish in the section having won three and drawn two of their matches so far, but will be keen to secure first place and the accompanying automatic place in the round of 16, rather than adding an extra fixture to their calendar in the knockout round play-offs. A draw would be enough for the Eagles to win the group, and to that end head coach Oliver Glasner will be pleased to have his entire first-team squad available for the trip to Turkey. Kostic is likely to be the first name on the teamsheet after recording his sixth Bundesliga assist of the season in the 3-2 defeat by Hoffenheim on Saturday, a disappointing result Glasner will be expecting a reaction to in the Turkish capital. Rafael Borre was on target in that game, taking the Colombian's tally to three goals in his last seven outings, so he should get the nod up front ahead of Goncalo Paciencia.
While Frankfurt's motivation is clear, Fenerbahce and Özil have little but pride left to play for. They are guaranteed to finish third in Group D, so will slip out of the Europa League and enter the UEFA Europa Conference League knockout play-offs. They do, however, come into the game in buoyant mood after thrashing bottom club Rizespor 4-0 at the weekend, with Serdar Dursun hitting a hat-trick in the final 20 minutes to seal the points. That win has left them third in the domestic Super Lig standings, 12 points behind leaders Trabzonspor, and will give cause for optimism as they look to sign off with their first home win in Europe this season.
