In fact, Mason Mount was so disgusted with what he thought was his latest score that he put his card in the bin for a second year running.

The Chelsea ace was devastated to be confronted with an 82 rating of himself - which would have meant a big downgrade from FIFA 22.

Mount had his head in his hands when confronted with his reduced 69 pace, which also would have made him slower than friend Declan Rice.
The 23-year-old took a consoling hug from teammate Ben Chilwell while admitting: "I've put it in the bin, my head is gone."
It was then that Mount was given his true FIFA 23 rating of 84, with upgrades to his overall, shooting and passing from last year.
But the relieved midfielder still wasn't completely happy, commenting: "Still slow though.

"They ain't faked my physical cause that's still the same. This (card) is on the borderline of being in the bin but it's staying there."
Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha was among the other Premier League stars unhappy with their new ratings…and unfortunately his weren't fake!
The Ivorian was captured by Palace TV during a ratings video, exclaiming: "This is stupid! That's why I don't play FIFA!"
Zaha later took to social media once the stats were confirmed, posting a photo of himself being shown a yellow card that had been replaced by his Ultimate Team card.

The Crystal Palace talisman captioned it: "Me seeing my FIFA stats got worse. Must have been playing golf all season then."
Zaha's 14 Premier League goals in 2021/22 meant he may have some cause to complain about not being handed a bigger upgrade.

Liverpool's Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain would not have been as hopeful for a good rating after another season ravaged by injury.
Yet it wasn't the minus two downgrade he received to his overall that most bothered him - it was instead losing the physical battle to Diogo Jota.
"If Jota has better physicality than me or physical, then it's get me home now," he said before the reveal that he was indeed lower.
"That means this [77 - two better than his 75 score] is Diogo Jota, is it?" came Oxlade-Chamberlain afterwards.

"That Portuguese fella we're talking about. It's the same one, yeah?"
Manchester City's stars went through the same FIFA 23 ratings reveals as Liverpool with Erling Haaland among the players on show.
And the Norwegian was left aghast to find out he was weaker than teammate Ruben Dias considering he won the physical battle with the defender when he was at Borussia Dortmund during a Champions League clash in 2021.

Elsewhere, it seems as if Newcastle midfielder Bruno Guimaraes is the only Premier League star actually bothered about playing the game.
And the Brazilian wasted little time endearing himself to the Toon army online after uploading a video mocking rivals Sunderland.
Guimaraes was playing as his own in-game character and smashed in a third for Newcastle against the Black Cats inside the first half-hour.

The 24-year-old is yet to taste a true experience of the Tyne-Wear derby but is clearly relishing the prospect one day as he was heard chanting "BRUNO" at his TV screen.
A cute moment…just the less said about playing Joe Willock in a one-man holding midfield role the better!
