Emiliano Martinez's former coach reveals why he loves Arsenal superstar Aaron Ramsdale

The England international has impressed for the Gunners since moving to the Emirates Stadium from Sheffield United in 2021.

Initially fans weren't so sure about the signing given his role in the relegations of Sheffield United and Bournemouth in 2020 and 2021, respectively.

To his credit, he put that to one side and quickly overtaking Bernd Leno to become Mikel Arteta's number one.

Ramsdale has pulled off a series of impressive saves this season as he helps his team in their title battle.

The Arsenal shot-stopper has kept the joint highest number of clean sheets in the Premier League this season with 12, alongside Newcastle's Nick Pope.

The 24-year-old has also won plaudits for his distribution, which has become key to Arsenal's style of play under Arteta.

Cutler knows what it takes to be a successful goalkeeper in the Premier League - having worked closely with Emi Martinez during his time at Aston Villa.

And has been impressed with Ramsdale's character in between the posts for Arsena, believing one thing stands out more than anything else.

Speaking exclusively to talkSPORT, Cutler said: "What I love about Ramsdale is that he loves to play football. He doesn't shy away from anything. He just goes out there and he absolutely loves playing and he shows that he loves playing.

"He looks like an extrovert and he shows people what he can do, game-in, game-out. He doesn't sit in his comfort zone. He plays out of his comfort zone and I love that.

"I love a goalie that plays with a smile on their face, places with energy and plays with life and backs it up with really good saves and [he] has kept his team in so many games this season."
