A former Stuttgart man, Kostic was key to Frankfurt's fifth-placed finish last year with 14 assists - second only to Thomas Müller in the league - and a prized possession in most Fantasy teams, but neither he nor Eintracht have got going yet this season. A 5-2 loss at Borussia Dortmund has been followed by draws with Augsburg and Arminia Bielefeld. Attacking midfielders Jesper Lindstrom and Jens Petter Hauge have impressed following their summer arrivals as part of the three behind fellow newcomer Rafael Borre up front, and they could get the nod on the flanks. Die Adler have also signed Dutch striker Sam Lammers on loan from Atalanta, which is timely given Borre's late return from international duty with Colombia.
Also down the left flank, Sosa was Stuttgart's primary source of assists last season with nine - of which five were onto the head of Sasa Kalajdzic. The left wing-back has already laid on three more this term - and a league-high four of the team's seven goals so far have been headers from crosses - but not to his 6'7'' striker, who is out until the new year after shoulder surgery. Instead, it's 30-year-old Hamadi Al Ghaddioui who's leading the line after taking his chance, starting with a goal in the opening 5-1 win over Greuther Fürth. However, Pellegrino Matarazzo's side failed to follow up that impressive Matchday 1 performance and have since lost 4-0 at RB Leipzig and 3-2 at home to Freiburg. It isn't through a lack of trying, given Stuttgart have had the most shots in the league (58). Their three games have also seen the most goals - at either end - of any team, with 15. The only expected change to the side is the return of Atakan Karazor alongside captain Wataru Endo in midfield, having recovered from a muscular injury that forced him off early on the opening day.
Match stats
Kostic registered eight goals and 13 assists for Stuttgart in 2014/15 and 2015/16. His last goal involvement in a Frankfurt shirt was on the final day of last season (two assists).
Hauge is Eintracht's two-goal top scorer in this season's Bundesliga.
The Eagles have won only two of their last nine in the Bundesliga, while Glasner is winless in five top-flight matches dating back to April 2021.
Al Ghaddioui is Stuttgart's chief attacking threat so far this season with two goals and an assist.
Sosa was Stuttgart's top provider last season with nine assists. Among defenders, only Dortmund's Raphael Guerreiro produced more (10). The Croatian set up a hat-trick of goals on Matchday 1.
Stuttgart have lost just three of their 12 previous Bundesliga trips to Frankfurt (W7, D2), but are winless in three in Germany's financial capital.
