Frankfurt were in UEFA Europa League action against Barcelona on Thursday holding the Spanish giants to a 1-1 draw after Ansgar Knauff's first-half stunner. Die Adler had fired blanks in their previous two Bundesliga games, playing out goalless draws with high-fliers RB Leipzig and rock-bottom Greuther Fürth, but their confidence should now be running high. Borre has been their most reliable source of goals this season - scoring seven and setting up four - and the Colombia striker should lead the line again this weekend, with Daichi Kamada and Jesper Lindstrom in support, while Filip Kostic will provide his customary menace from the left flank. Left-back Christopher Lenz is still recovering from a calf injury and is unlikely to feature, with second-choice keeper Diant Ramaj the only other absentee. Oliver Glasner may elect to juggle playing time ahead of Thursday's return leg in Spain, however.
Freiburg should have fresher legs going into Sunday's game at the Deutsche Bank Park, although their morale will have taken a hit in last week's 4-1 loss to leaders Bayern Munich. It was nevertheless a milestone outing for Petersen against his former club, as he notched his 100th goal in Freiburg colours. The Bundesliga's most prolific supersub has also scored eight goals in 15 career meetings with the Eagles, and will be looking to make another decisive contribution from the bench. Lucas Höler, Roland Sallai and Vincenzo Grifo are set to lead the visitors' attack, while Belgian teenager Hugo Siquet is pushing for a second league outing with recent first-choice right-back Lukas Kübler still working his way back from a muscle injury.
